Docklands Light Railway appoint Appius to design and configure a SharePoint portal for the Integrated Management System roll-out
Appius' role as DLR's strategic web provider has moved in a new direction this month in line with the company's decision to roll out a new Integrated Management System which will deliver a new level of integrated operational processes and accountabilities. Appius have provided advice on various application options and this project will support the communication and adoption of the IMS roll-out with a M.O.S.S 2007 solution in line with Transport for London's technology roadmap. The combination of Appius' user centred design processes and experience with SharePoint and intranet implementations were key to the decision to involve Appius.
Simon Annicchiarico, Appius Managing Director, said "we consulted closely with the key stakeholders who needed to achieve a successful roll-out of the Integrated Management System, then engaged with representatives from all DLR departments. This process allowed us and the stakeholders to understand the key factors that would ensure good adoption of the tool and therefore the IMS within the business. Our experience of working with Transport for London as one of the 9 current 'framework' roster agencies will provide to be invaluable on the project, as will our familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint in both 2003 and M.O.S.S 2007 flavours. Should we need to, we can rely on our relationship with Microsoft and ongoing engagement with their Search and SharePoint specialists to ensure we get the most from the technology and hit the business critical deadlines for this project."
